The SCYNEXIS cyclophilin platform continues to identify novel compounds that show potent activity against the replicon model of HCV infection. The demonstration, by SCY-635, of a high barrier to clinical resistance, with mutations required in at least two distinct viral proteins, is a feature that is incorporated into the SCYNEXIS strategy for a second generation cyclophilin inhibitor. A Cyclophilin Inhibitor-biased screening cascade that allows new compounds to be evaluated for potency, resistance, safety and pharmacokinetic profile has delivered several families of compounds that show improved activities. SCYNEXIS is currently evaluating Pre-Clinical Candidates (PCC) discovered using SCYNEXIS’ proprietary technology, that display a differentiated profile.
