Community Infections

Rapidly advancing the treatment of common and debilitating fungal infections

Dismissed. Stigmatized. Forgotten. We're changing that.

Our work in women’s health is putting a spotlight on vaginal yeast infections, which the scientific research community has all but ignored.

When it comes to infectious diseases, the area of women’s health is under-appreciated and very much under served. There is considerable misunderstanding or lack of awareness of how vaginal yeast infections can significantly affect women’s well-being, potentially resulting in fewer drug development companies focusing on this area. There is a clear underestimation of the unmet need, including patients that do not respond well to azole medications.

At SCYNEXIS, we are on a mission to address this unmet need and empower women with options to eliminate these insidious infections.

VVC, commonly known as a vaginal yeast infection is the second most common vaginal infection affecting women of reproductive age in the United States.
